Four artists, four ways of looking inward and outward
On Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 3PM, Y2 opens its doors for an one-day group exhibition in which Charlotte ten Raa, Rotem Stern, Erin Tjin A Ton and Neon Songs (Mariah Blue) bring together their work and performances.
This exhibition will be combined with the first Silophonesession of this season.
Instrument maker and performance artist Neon Songs will provide the openingsact for this session. For more information, scroll down.
DJ Sok will close the event with a set from 6:30PM till 8:00PM.

Charlotte ten Raa
Charlotte ( @charlottetenraa ) intertwines her personal struggles with a fascination for nature and our existence. She weaves the beauty and oddity of natural processes – such as how slugs reproduce – with her own inner baggage of gloom, and chaos. By combining repurposed decorative fabrics with her own painting and embroidery, she creates work that feels both intimate and handmade, yet carries a spatial, almost ritual presence.
Rotem Stern
The drawings of Rotem ( @sternrotem ) are process based research which is non hierarchical, without aiming to produce an end product beyond the exploration itself. Attempting to tap into a non judgmental embodied process which shifts the attention away from the outcome and towards a playful exploration of material on paper. Sometimes making space for expressing inner worlds as they unfold, whether the thoughts, feelings or associations seem silly, serious, meaningful or insignificant, giving them all space without censorship. The works are made quickly, in short bursts in constricted time, which is a restriction that comes with the reality of motherhood. In this state of agency there is movement between several works at once, working and reworking.
Erin Tjin A Ton
Erin ( https://erintjinaton.com/ ) is currently researching her Chinese-Surinamese history. During this research, she was moved by stories about the Chinese diaspora, which became the starting point for a series of kinetic sculptures.
Neon Songs (Mariah Blue)
Neon Songs (Mariah Blue (she/her) ( https://www.mariahblue.work/ , @sleeeepeeeels ) is an Amsterdam-based interdisciplinary artist and instrument maker whose work spans performance, new media, installation, and sounds. In her ongoing project, Neon Songs, DIY electronic instruments become an open dialogue with materials, where glitches, improvisation, and intuition form their expressive language. Communication becomes a practice of entering into relationships that need not be human, or even animal, but are part of the material life of our world.
