Op zaterdag 7 juni bestaat Y2 tien jaar! Wij nodigen jullie van harte uit dit met ons mee te beleven. Om dit te vieren is voor die dag tussen 14u en 22u een speciaal programma opgesteld met de opening van de tentoonstelling ten year anniversary, de openstelling van ateliers en diverse muzikale optredens.
De tentoonstelling ten year anniversary toont werk van kunstenaars die werken of gewerkt hebben in een atelier van Y2. De tentoonstelling is, na de opening, tot eind juni te bezoeken op vrijdagen tussen 16u en 18u.
Een kort overzicht van wat er zaterdag muzikaal staat te gebeuren:

Voor, tussen en na de optredens is er in het kader van YAM2 een open podium voor ieder die zich daartoe geroepen voelt!

Over Klanken & streken
Dit programmaonderdeel bestaat uit een performance, waarbij Nadine Touré live schildert op live muziek door klankdichter Erik Keuning. Eerder is deze performance uitgevoerd in de kerk van Leegkerk.
Nadine Touré maakt en schrijft muziek en zingt jazz. Momenteel volgt zij een opleiding aan het Prins Claus conservatorium. Zij schildert, en heeft een atelier op Y2. Inmiddels heeft zij tentoonstellingen gehad in o.a. Y2 en Forma Actua.
In het KUNST. -magazine Jaargang 1 (2023), nummer 1, blz 32 staat:
“Als ik muziek hoor, dan zie ik kleuren en vice versa. Voor mij voelt dit allemaal als één geheel, vandaar dat ik weinig onderscheid maak tussen de manier waarop ik de twee media benader.”
Tot 2011 werkte Erik Keuning als hoboïst/althoboïst bij oa het Frysk Orkest en het NFO. Hij heeft opleidingen gevolgd in de rebirthkunde, klankmassage en klanktherapie. Met (alt-)violiste Marianne Keuning vormt hij het Enian Ensemble.

Over Hemelstort
Hemelstort schrijft: Hemelstort is een improvisatie door zes geluidmakers/muzikanten. Van subtiel naar overdonderend, uit de chaos naar structuur. Een avontuur van ongeveer een uur, waarin de spelers op elkaar reageren. Daardoor ontstaan er onverwachte wendingen, soms bruut, soms harmonisch.
Het is een experimentele jam, alle auditieve en/of muzikale genres kunnen gebruikt worden.
Grimpex (Groninger Improvisatie Experiment) staat voor het ter plaatse laten ontstaan van muziek. Luisteren met open oren. Voor zowel muzikanten als publiek.
Het Rumoer staat voor experiment en het onverwachte in buitengewone muziek en geluidskunst. Ook hier zijn open oren gewenst.

Over Lucid Extinction
Lucid Extinction bestaat uit Wouter Schaatsbergen en Willem van Tuijl. Zij werken veel met gastmusici; voor zaterdag 7 juni is dit Merel Weijer (van de band Hister).
Trefwoorden mbt hun muziek zijn: experimental, drone, ambient, free jazz en noise. Hun muziek valt onder het genre kosmische deathjazz.
Zij schrijven over zichzelf: Fascinerend, bruut, compromisloos en meedogenloos creatief.
Lucid Extinction is de kleine apocalyps, de dood van het ego opdat we onszelf kunnen zijn,
het is beginnen, telkens weer opnieuw maar toch altijd hetzelfde, het is het bewustzijnsverruimende ritueel dat alle tegenstellingen opheft, het is opdagen en spelen, zonder voorbereiding en zonder repertoire, het is de totale overgave, de muziek bezit van je laten nemen, het is radicale vrijheid, de verantwoordelijkheid van iedereen voor iedereen, het is kosmische deathjazz, het is psychedelisch, het is drone, synthesis, distortion, en ook feedback, tape loops, noise en demonisch koeterwaals, het is dit alles en het is niets van dit.

Anahita Malakooti is een veel gevraagd zangeres. Normaliter reist ze Europa rond om te zingen bij tal van gezelschappen. In Groningen was ze de afgelopen periode regelmatig te beluisteren in Duo Orient. Een combinatie van Jazz en muziek uit Iran en andere streken in het Midden-Oosten. Het leverde prachtige optredens op. Over haar levensloop verscheen een documentaire, waarin haar beweegredenen om Iran achter zich te laten, als ze daar niet op mag treden als vrouwelijke solo artiest en hoe ze naar het Westen kwam om haar muzikale dromen na te jagen.

In recent years she has been working on more contemporary and fusion in Opera with Jazz, tribal, electronic and Persian music. Her performances take you through a journey of sounds and perceptions.
Sinds september 2024 ook aktief in het duo Hannahita waar zij samenwerkt met de Zweedse electronica muzikant Hannes Arvid Andersson (ook bekend als Othernode).

On Saturday 7 June Y2 will be ten years old! We cordially invite you to celebrate this with us. To celebrate this, a special program has been drawn up for that day between 2pm and 10pm with the opening of the ten year anniversary exhibition, the opening of studios and various musical performances.
The ten year anniversary exhibition shows work by artists who have worked or worked in a Y2 studio. The exhibition can be visited, after the opening, until the end of June on Fridays between 4pm and 6pm.

About Sounds & streken
This program component consists of a performance, in which Nadine Touré paints live to live music by sound poet Erik Keuning. Previously, this performance was performed in the church of Leegkerk.
Nadine Touré makes and writes music and sings jazz. She is currently training at the Prince Claus Conservatory. She paints, and has a studio at Y2. In the meantime, she has had exhibitions in a.o. Y2 and Forma Actua.

About Hemelstort
Hemelstort writes: Hemelstort is an improvisation by six sound makers/musicians. From subtle to thunderous, from chaos to structure. An adventure of about an hour, in which the players react to each other. This creates unexpected twists and turns, sometimes brutal, sometimes harmonious.
It is an experimental jam, all auditory and/or musical genres can be used.
Grimpex (Groninger Improvisation Experiment) stands for the creation of music on site. Listening with open ears. For both musicians and audience.
Het Rumoer stands for experiment and the unexpected in extraordinary music and sound art. Here, too, open ears are desired.

Lucid Extinction consists of Wouter Schaatsbergen and Willem van Tuijl. They work a lot with guest musicians; for Saturday 7 June this is Merel Weijer (from the band Hister).

Anahita Malakooti is a much sought-after singer. She normally travels around Europe to sing with numerous companies. In Groningen, she has recently been regularly heard in Duo Orient. A combination of Jazz and music from Iran and other regions in the Middle East. It yielded beautiful performances.
