Fri Sept 12th 8:30pm: the @emulative.shyster with NOISE @Y2 – Y2 – ateliers en expositieruimte in Groningen

Last month he was in Seoul. Beginning of this month in Cologne. And after Groningen he travels on to among others, Haarlem, Bonn, Hamburg and Berlin.

On Friday 12 September at 8:30 pm you are welcome in Y2, Damsterdiep 299 at the performance of noise musician/performer Mathieu Sylvestre (@emulative.shyster).

The doors open at 8pm. The performance starts between 8:30 pm and 8:45 pm.

Admission is free but a donation for Sylvestre is welcome.

Mathieu Sylvestre (@emulative.shyster) is a French musician living in Berlin. He was active in the rock scene for about ten years as a singer and guitarist before he began to delve into the noise music genre around 2010.

In the beginning, he experimented with guitars, cello, effect pedals and contact microphones to investigate through sounds and noise the origin of vibrations using direct analogue methods .

Later he made sound pieces based on field recordings and the sound of analog synthesizers. In it, sounds and natural sounds were incorporated into “electrified sound narratives between aural synaesthesia and spatial vibrations”. Based on improvised patterns, he gives live electronic sound performances. These performances continue to develop and expose the boundaries between analog sound textures and the core of electronic vibrations. The emphasis is on a plastic and physical approach to noise music.

In addition to being a performing musician/performer, Sylvestre is also active as a composer and sound designer for the work of others.

Since 2018 he has been in various collaborative projects with Sonus Eorum (drone/noise), Reichenhall (ambient noise), and Uncoppen Saw (ghost word tribal noise), among others.
